PAYMENT PROCESSORS

Take a few minutes to read this page for information about payment processors.

To transact online,  it will be necessary for you to have at least one, but preferably several payment processor accounts. They are free to join.

You may occasionally receive emails claiming to be from these companies asking you to verify your account information by clicking on a link in an email.  Do not answer them!! Do not follow their links!! This unscrupulous practice is called phishing, and they will use your personal information to empty your account!

Legitimate payment processors will never send links to click in your email. I advise that you keep only minimum amounts of money in any payment processor account, just what you need for your immediate transactions.

Click on the links below to sign up for your free payment processor accounts.  You never know when having these accounts already set up for you will come in handy.  Learn how to use them, make test spends and know how they work before you really need them. Be prepared.

If you can link your payment processor account directly to your bank account, you should be able to withdraw funds straight to your bank account. However, this may not always be possible, depending on your location and circumstances. You will need to work out what suits you the best.

Some payment processors offer their own debit card, which is a bit more expensive because they charge you a fee to load the card, and the card provider usually chages a monthly fee plus a withdrawal fee, but the advantage is that you can withdraw your funds from just about any ATM.  Definitely worth looking into.
